1. The Wisdom of Tibetan Medicine

Life is very precious. For this precious life, our health is the foundation. In this course you will learn the basics of ancient Tibetan Medical knowledge to keep the balance between mind and body, Tibetan pulse and urine diagnosis and pressure point massage.

Tibetan Medicine:

Tibetan Medicine uses unique techniques for self-healing and recovery. This profound system is believed to come directly from the Medicine Buddha. The essence of Tibetan Medicine is keeping the balance between mind and body. The body is said to be healthy if the three humors are in balance. If they become imbalanced, the body is considered unhealthy. These humors are present in every human being and are responsible for all functions and biological activities of the body. Techniques such as pulse reading, checking the tongue, eyes and urine are unique features of the Tibetan Medical system.

2. Happy Mind, Healthy Body

In this workshop you will learn: the relationship between mind and body, how to lead ahealthy life through good diet and lifestyle, the formation of channels and chakra’s, mindfulness meditation, relaxation exercises, inhaling and exhaling breathing exercises.

Mindfulness:

This is a very important subject in Tibetan Medicine. As mentioned in the rGyud-bzhi text, the root cause of all suffering is ignorance. An ignorant mind cannot view true phenomena and falls into illusion. A mind with illusions causes misunderstanding and misperception and is easily misled. The main cause for illusions is a lack of awareness and closed-mindedness. An unaware mind disturbs the nervous system, mental

consciousness and the brain. Thus the practice of mindfulness can help to clarify illusions, misconceptions and ignorance.

Tibetan breathing exercises:

Breathing is a technique to open the blocked channels of mind and body. Breathing exercises can restore one’s regular energy by cleaning the three main channels (ro-ma, u-ma, kyangma). There are many different ways of breathing. One of the best methods is the practice of rLung Ro Gu Trug.

Bring your own cushion and/or mat, if you prefer.
